The Vancouver Giants defensive pair Jonathon Blum and Brent Regner combined for six points in a 6-1 win over the struggling Portland Winter Hawks.

Captain Spencer Machacek led the goal scoring attack with a pair giving Machacek a team-high 18 on the season. He also leads the club with five game-winners. Other Giants goals came from Evander Kane (10), Lance Bouma (7), Mario Bliznak (7), and Craig Cunningham (6).

Travis Ehrhardt (6) scored Portland’s lone goal on a wrister while the teams were four-on-four with assist by Tristan King.

Kurtis Mucha stopped 43 of 49 shots in net for Portland while Kraymer Barnstable stopped 15 of 16 shots for Vancouver.

Vancouver finished the night 4 for 8 on the power play while Portland was 0 for 2.

In the last two games the Hawks are 1 for 8 on the power play and their opponents are 7 for 15.

Another bad game for the Hawks.
