Hawks vs. Hurricanes - Game 17 · Monday November 5, 2007

The Hawks made it a game despite being outshot 23-6 in the first two periods. Mike Wuchterl’s shorthanded goal midway through the third period was the game-winner as the Lethbridge Hurricanes held off the Portland Winter Hawks for a 3-2 Western Hockey League victory in Lethbridge. Adam Chorneyko and Cam Braes also scored for the Hurricanes.

Portland (3-14-0-0) got a shorthanded breakaway goal from Colton Sceviour (2) and a late power play goal from Tyler Swystun (8).

Overall the Hawks did not win the board battle and couldn’t generate enough scoring to make it close.
The Hawks spend most of the first period killing 3 penalties and generated only 2 scoring chances not enough to win many game, but they did hang in their making it a game at the end.

This was the debut game for his home fans of Bradley Ross, the Hawks number 1 pick (overall 5) in the 2007 draft.
